This workshop will provide a layperson's understanding of pharmacology - the science of how medications act within our bodies to change our physiology and affect our health. It begins with a brief assessment and review of basic relevant biology terms which builds a foundation for the rest of the course. Key concepts and terms will be described and defined to provide easy understanding of action, adverse reactions, side-effects and interactions associated with commonly prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
